The NTCIP 1105 document provides definitions of the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) Security Service Specification for use in center-to-center communications in the transportation domain. The Object Management Group (OMG) has developed, and maintains, most of the base CORBA standards for the benefit of a broad range of industries beyond transportation. The NTCIP effort -- with regard to CORBA -- has been focused on development of peripheral standards needed to select and adapt the broader CORBA standards for use in the transportation industry.

In September 2000 -- the Joint Committee accepted 1105 v01.01 as a User Comment Draft.

In May 2001 -- NTCIP Standards Bulletin B0058 sent NTCIP 1105 v01.02 to AASHTO, ITE, and NEMA members for User Comment. The User Comment Period closed in July 2001.

May 2005 -- the NTCIP Center to Center Working Group agreed to suspend the work on this standard. There are only three known deployments using CORBA and no known plans for future use.
